This recipe calls for Nutritional Yeast and Tamari. Nutritional Yeast is full of B vitamins and other vitamins and protein. Some say it tastes a bit like cheese. You should be able to get both it and Tamari at health food stores. You can substitute good quality soy sauce or Braggs Liquid Aminos for the Tamari.

Ingredients: (approximate amounts)

1/4-2/3 cups unpopped popcorn
2-3 Tbsp butter
1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil (optional)
2-3 tsp Tamari
2-4 Tbsp nutritional yeast
1 tsp cumin
1/4 tsp paprika
1-2 Tbsp parmesan


Pop the popcorn. While this is happening, melt the butter and mix in the oil if using.

Once the popcorn is finished, pour on a little bit of the butter/oil mixture and stir well with a butter knife. Pour a little more on, and mix again, continuing until you have used up all the oil. Do the same thing with the Tamari.

Sprinkle the yeast over the popcorn, and mix. Do the same thing with all the spices, one at a time. Be sparring with the cayenne if using, and be sure to mix well after adding it. Stir in the cheese last.

You're done! Makes enough for 1 huge serving, or share it with a friend.
