Super Hot Cereals The oatmeal is especially good with a little bit of cream or milk poured on top for a special occasion. Vegan!

Ingredients: (approximate amounts)

For the best oatmeal you've ever had:
1 cup organic oats
1/2 cup purified water
1/2 cup organic apple cider (or apple juice)
1 organic apple
1/4 cup organic raisins (optional)
2 Tbsp sesame seeds
2 Tbsp sliced unblanched almonds
1/2 tsp sweet spice mix

For amazing cornmeal:
1/3 cup organic cornmeal
3/4 cups water
A few organic dates
1/2 tsp sweet spice mix
1 tsp maple syrop (optional)
1 tsp oil or butter

Method: (for oatmeal)

Put water,apple cider and raisins (if using) in a pan and bring to a boil, covered. Core the apple and peel if you wish. Add it and the remaining ingredients when the water is boiling. Simmer, stirring every minute or so until most of the water is absorbed and oatmeal is at desired consistancy. (About 5 minutes)

Makes enough for 2-4 people, depending on how hungry you are.

Method: (for cornmeal)

Chop dates small. (Apparantly it helps to keep the knife oiled when chopping dates.)

Bring water and dates to a boil. Add cornmeal and sweet spice mix. Simmer, stirring frequantly, until water is absorbed.

Take off the heat and add maple syrop and oil or butter. Stir well.

Makes enough for 2-3 people.
