Grilled Sandwiches I think that the best bread to use for this is a nice sprouted whole grain bread. Light rye is also nice. It would probably work with anything though, preferably not white.


6 slices of bread
1-2 tomatoes
Asiago or other cheese



Lightly toast the bread. While toasting, slice tomatoes with a sharp knife as thinly as you can.

Butter the toast. Put slices of tomato on bread, overlapping slightly, to cover all 6 slices. Lightly sprinkle with basil and grated cheese to taste.

Grill until the cheese starts to get brown. Cut into triangles and serve.

Makes 6 slices, enough for 2-3 hungry people or 6 as finger food.
